HOW TO MANDATE A LAWYER IN TURKEY ?
Under Turkish laws, attorneys at law may only act when duly empowered by a power of attorney in due form.
This is to say that if you intend to hire a lawyer in Tukey, you are obliged to issue a power of attorney. The formal requirements are as follows :
- when issued in Turkey, the Power of attorney shall be duly notarized and certified by Turkish Public Notary.
- when issued outside Turkey, the Power of attorney, shall be signed before a local Notary, then bear the Apostil Stamp (pursuant to La Hangue Convention for signatory countries, or at the Turkish Consulate). Such document shall be then translated in Turkey, certified by Turkish Public notary.
